CareerBuilder Buys French Job Site Lesjeudis

CareerBuilder, the job site now owned collectively by Gannett (NYSE: GCI), Tribune Company, McClatchy (NYSE: MNI) and Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT), has made an international acquisition: it has bought out Lesjeudis.com, one of the larger online recruitment company in France. Financial terms were not disclosed. Founded in 1997, Lesjeudis operates six different recruitment sites focused on various job sectors, and is especially strong on IT/tech jobs. Lesjeudis will retain its name…company CEO Cedric Barbier will continue to lead the company.

CareerBuilder began its international expansion in the fall of 2006..it has since launched sites in Canada, the UK, India, Spain, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Italy and Romania. It has also bought in Sweden (Jobbguiden.se), The Netherlands (JobbingMall.nl) and Greece (Kariera.gr). CareerBuilder also has partnerships in China with 51Jobs, South Korea with Incruit and the Middle East with Gulf Talent. More details in release.
