CBS Invests In Online Tickets Marketplace TicketReserve

CBS is continuing on its flurry of deal, even on the strategic investment side: it has invested an undisclosed amount in online-ticket marketplace TicketReserve. The site, based in Chicago, is aimed at sports fans and allows them to buy tickets well in advance of premier events. A Yankees fan, for example, at the beginning of the baseball season could buy a guaranteed right to buy a ticket to the World Series if the Yankees reach the championship. During the season, the value of the option goes up or down depending on the team’s success, and the fan can freely trade the option on the tickets, reports MarketWatch. CBS’ sports divisions, inlcuding CBS SportsLine, CBS Sports, CSTV, CBS Radio, and CBS Interactive, will work with the site, on cross promotion. More in release.
