Hollywood Interactive Group, a Los Angeles-based online media company focused on entertainment content, has received $5 million in its first round of funding, led by BlueRun Ventures. This funding will be used to develop the company’s slate of multiplatform content initiatives. The first project is MyHollywood.com, a women-focused site for celebrity and entertainment news, casual games, fashion and community. The site is aimed at women 18-34, and tries to engage users through celeb-based casual games and fashion…its main game is the “Red Carpet Game”, an online multiplayer game, and will launch more next year. Revenue streams are virtual item and premium package sales, pre-paid cards, and online advertising.
