Chai Labs—Led By Former Googler Rajaram—Raises $1.1 Million

Chai Labs—the stealth consumer internet startup led by former AdSense product management director Gokul Rajaram—has raised $1.1 million in a round of funding, according to an SEC filing. Rajaram, who helped launch AdSense, left his job at Google (NSDQ: GOOG) at the end of 2007 to start Chai Labs. Not much is known about the stealth startup, although it describes itself in job ads as trying to create a “content and community platform for web publishers.” SEC filings show that Chai Labs previously raised $1.3 million in January 2008. Backers include Merus Capital. We reached out to Rajaram for comment earlier today but did not hear back. We’ll update this post if we learn more.
