Cisco (NSDQ: CSCO), which has snapped up companies like Linksys, Kiss and others over the last few years, has now bought out Seattle-based Pure Networks, a provider of home networking-management software and tools, for $120 million. Pure’s software allows home users to set up and manage a home network and connect a range of digital devices, apps and services within the home, and share digital media. Pure has been working with Linksys in the past. It was funded by Intel (NSDQ: INTC) Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, Mayfield and Ignition Parthers, among others. More details in the release.

SeattlePI: Pure Networks encountered some rough waters in 2006. At the time of its $12.5 million venture round, the company chopped a portion of its staff to get “lean and mean.”
