imageThis one kinda comes out of left field, though in a way it makes perfect sense… NowPublic, the heavily funded citizen journalism startup, has acquired Truemors, Guy Kawasaki’s user-gen gossip site. With the acquisition, which looks a little bit like an acq-hire, Kawasaki will chair NP’s advisory board. And beyond his participation on the board, the move adds a high profile name to the company. The company says Truemors is a natural complement to its crowd-sourced model of news gathering. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, and while Truemors itself famously launched for just $12,000. Vancouver, CA-based NowPublic has raised at least $12 million from Rho Ventures, Brightspark and the Working Opportunity Fund. Release.
