Conde Nast Pulls The Plug On Golf For Women

Conde Nast will shutter Golf For Women magazine with the July/August issue after 10 years. In its announcement, Conde Nast simply says that the bimonthly mag didn’t fit its “business objectives” anymore. In particular, the magazine had a particularly poor Q1, as WSJ pointed to data from the Publishers Information Bureau said Golf For Women’s ad pages dropped 35 percent. At the same time, Golf For Women’s chief, Susan K. Reed, was named editor-in-chief of Hearst Corp.‘s O, The Oprah Magazine. Speaking of Hearst, last week that publisher said it would cease publication of housekeeping magazine Quick & Simple, due to deteriorating market conditions and higher paper expenses.
