Corbis Offers Blogs Free Photos With A Catch—Embedded Ads
Corbis will let blogs post some of its photos as part of an ad-sharing arrangement, CEO Gary Shenk told the Reuters Media Summit Tuesday.
The new plan being tested pairs free photos with ads that either have a pop up embedded or an overlay that will be part of the visible image. PicScout, Corbis’ digital image management service, is operating a website called PicApp.com that will administer the ad-supported photos. Blogs will be able to share ad revenue generated by how many clicks the photos receive on their sites.
