@ CTIA: Viacom CEO Phillipe Dauman, Three 6 MafiaMonday night, the Hard Rock Cafe at Universal City Walk was the site of a lovely but sedate Verizon Wireless party. Tuesday night, though, the joint was hopping as MTV Mobile and Motricity hosted a party with go-go dancers, open bars, DJ Grandmaster Flash and Three 6 Mafia. I was in the Lennon Room when Three 6 Mafia came through and posed for a series of pictures starting with Dauman, in town to give one of Wednesday’s keynotes. It’s not the greatest picture but it captures the spirit. The picture shows Greg Clayman (SVP Mobile, MTVN), Ryan Wuerch (CEO, Motricity), Juicy J (Three 6 Mafia), Philippe Dauman (CEO, Viacom), and DJ Paul (Three 6 Mafia).
We’ll have more details on Dauman’s keynote first thing in the morning. It’s a coming out party of sorts for Daumann, making his first major industry address. Expect some comments on copyright but the real focus will be on creating apps, using content across platforms and, a money engine Viacom is counting on, mobile advertising. One announcement already has been teased by the NYTSouth Park 10: The Game with 40 levels of play.
More pictures from Tuesday night in our CTIA 2007 flickr stream.
