@ D7: Twitter Founders Say Company Control Is Safe
Thought I was going to get away with twittering, not posting, about the first session of D7, the annual Kara Swisher-Walt Mossberg conference that started tonight with an interview of Twitter co-founders Biz Stone and Ev Williams. Then Swisher asked the two of them if they have enough control over the company to prevent it from being sold if they opposed the move. Williams replied: “It doesn’t matter that much because the board and investors feel the same way.” She pushed a few more times but I don’t think we ever got a clear answer beyond the idea that they chose investors who think the way they do. Does that matter? Not now, but it’s not hard to imagine a time when it could.
Update: The video highlights of the session (10 minutes long), embedded after the jump.
