DealBase, which helps travelers find cheap hotel rates, has raised $1 million in funding from a group of angel investors, including Russ Siegelman, an Affiliated Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers; Bob Zipp, Managing Director of Amicus Capital; and Josh Hannah, General Partner at Matrix Partners and former CEO of eHow.com. DealBase was launched five months ago and claims to reach 100,000 unique visitors a month. According to the company, funds will be used to develop new products and launch internationally.

CEO Sam has achieved success in the online travel space before - his previous company TravelPost was acquired by SideStep for an undisclosed sum in October 2006.
