Opposing Views, an LA-based site covering controversial topics, has raised a $1.5 million first round from Fine Family Trust and Santa Monica Capital, reports VentureBeat. The site, which hasn’t fully launched yet, hopes to encourage discussion on such topics as “Are vaccines and autism related” and “Is global warming a crisis?” It’s not clear how the site will tackle these questions, however. The concept is similar to the recently launched Big Think, a site pitching itself as a YouTube for ideas.
