Delivery.com Buys Eats.com Owner Eats Media

Online food ordering service Delivery.com has purchased Eats Media, owner of restaurant portal and social networking site Eats.com. Financial terms of the deal were not released. Delivery.com pays commissions to users who recruit new restaurants and customers to its service, and the company says the addition of Eats “brings ... compelling content that our partners can leverage when promoting our properties.”

Eats Media CEO and owner Joe Ariel will take over as CEO of Delivery.com. In addition to Eats.com (which had about 25,000 unique visitors last month, according to Compete.com), Eats Media prints Eats Magazine restaurant guides in New York, Miami, and Washington D.C. as well as college dining guides at 10 colleges. Delivery.com is owned by financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald. Release.
