RoyaltyShare, a provider of digital royalty solutions to entertainment companies, has raised a $5 million second round led by Trident Capital. (Trident also led the $2.5-plus million first round and supplied seed funding for the company.) RoyaltyShare may yet raise additional funds as part of the round. The San Diego-based company plans to use the funds to open offices in Los Angeles, New York and Europe by the end of this year. Bob Kohn, RoyaltyShare’s co-founder, chairman and CEO, was also behind the formation of music download service EMusic.com in 1998. Release
