B2B video search platform provider Digitalsmiths has raised $6 million in a first round financing from The Aurora Funds, Chrysalis Ventures and individual investors. The Raleigh-Durham, N.C.-based company plans to use the funds to build out its sales and marketing team behind its contextual ad system VideoSense. Release

Mediapost: VideoSense launched earlier this month. The ad system is being pitched as offering seamless and automatic matching of online ads to web videos as they are being watched. It is also being promoted for its ability to work with any platform or ad network. Videosense builds on Digitalsmith’s six-year-old InScene service, which has been marketed to film and TV companies for the purpose of digitizing their video libraries and make it easily searchable according to people, places, objects and dialogue.
