Diller Could Be Out By Next Week—And He Knows It

Barry Diller, always in the throes of self-confession, did that earlier today at a Variety-hosted event: he said that by this time next week, depending on how Delaware court rules in his fight against John Malone, he may have lost control of the company he has been building for more than a decade. He will appear at the federal court in Delaware on Monday.

Then pointing out the irony of the situation, he said: “It’s very odd that two people who don’t want to give up control of anything are giving control to a judge in Delaware…The wonderful thing about Delaware is they do it quickly. They make a decision quickly.” Can’t accuse him of hubris, can you?
