DISH Extends AT&T Deal By One Month; Long Term Future Still In Question

DISH will get at least one more month in its reseller partnership with AT&T… The struggling satellite TV operator has had a joint marketing agreement with AT&T (NYSE: T) since 2003, but the contract was due to expire at the end of this year. Though nothing is official, the prevailing wisdom is that rival DirecTV (NYSE: DTV) (which also has an AT&T relationship) will get that contract exclusively. Anyway, in an SEC filing, DISH says its current arrangement will now terminate at the end of this coming January. It’s not clear if this changes much, and AT&T has always said it’s evaluating options once the deal expires.
