StreetFire, an Atlanta-based auto enthusiast site, has raises $6.1 million from undisclosed venture investors, reports PE Hub.  The site features active community forums, blogs and user-generated videos.

NewTeeVee has more on the company, noting that it originally launched in 1999 has a “CNET (NSDQ: CNET) for cars”, but then relaunched in its current form in 2005, doing video sharing even before YouTube, according to the company.  The company also operates Vidiac, which competes in a very crowded space against YouTube and BrightCove. With the funding, it plans on moving away form this business, focusing mainly on StreetFire.
