AOL (NYSE: TWX): Mark Pinney will head business planning for the Time Warner unit’s new Platform A advertising division. Pinney was previously Tacoda’s CFO and chief privacy officer. He will report to former Tacoda CEO Curt Viebranz, now AOL EVP and president of Platform A. Pinney has had a varied career, working in tech, biotech and finance over the past two decades. In 1995, Pinney co-founded Real Media, which eventually merged with an other company to form 24/7 Real Media in 2001. Release

Adify: Former TiVo (NSDQ: TIVO) exec David Courtney has joined the San Bruno, CA-based online ad network as president, COO and CFO. Courtney served as head of TiVo’s Corporate Products and Services Group and as its CFO. At Adify, which markets a do-it-yourself ad network to marketers, Courtney will manage the company’s operational and financial segments. Release

Starcom USA: Chris Allen, who previously oversaw TV and radio media buys for Austin, TX.-based ad agency GSD&M, has moved to Chicago to serve as VP/video innovation director for the Publicis Groupe agency. Allen will work on agency-wide efforts related to emerging video including DVR, Video On Demand and streaming video advertising. He reports to Tracey Scheppach, SVP/video innovation director.
