Earnings: AT&T Meets Expectations; Up To 549,000 U-Verse Subs

AT&T (NYSE: T) met expectations for Q2, reporting revenue of $30.9 billion and net income of $3.8 billion. A major driver, wireless data revenue, which grew 52 percent to $2.5 billion. The company also said that its U-Verse TV service had a net gain of 170,000 subs, bringing the total to 549,000. The company still is calling for more than 1 million subs by the end of the year. In total, wireline IP services revenue grew 16.1 percent. One note on the iPhone 3G: the pace of early sales is double what it was for the first version.
