Vivendi: Q4 Revs Up 8.5 Percent; UMG Slides 3.1 Percent; Digital Music Up 54 Percent

Media conglomerate Vivendi (EPA: VIV) has released preliminary Q407 data showing revenue of €6.0 billion ($8.9 billion), an 8.5 percent year-on-year increase over €5.5 billion ($8.17 billion). On a full-year basis, revenue grew 9.7 percent. Universal Music Group revenue slipped 3.1 percent to €1.6 billion ($2.38 billion), with digital sales jumping 54 percent to €188 million ($279.5 million). It cited strong growth in the mobile music business, although it didn’t break out the specific numbers. Income data will be released when it reports its final numbers on February 29. Release (.pdf)
