Ecast Raises $17 Million For Its Digital Jukebox Ad Network

Ecast, a long-standing digital jukebox-based ad network and content platform, has raised $17 million in funding, per an SEC filing. New investor LG Electronics (SEO: 066570) participated in this round, along with previous backers Foundry Group, Escalate Capital Partners, DCM and Crosslink Capital; Ecast has raised well over $80 million since it was founded in 1999. The company did not respond to a request for confirmation.

Ecast operates touchscreen jukeboxes and kiosks in over 10,000 locations nationwide, mostly in bars and clubs. It says it serves over a billion ads per month. Its network includes content from labels including Sony BMG, Warner Music and Universal, as well as indie artists repped by the IODA.
