Electronic Arts Reorganizes; Splits Into Four Groups
Four months after calling John Riccitiello back to his post as CEO, Electronic Arts is reorganizing into four groups: EA Sports, EA Games, EA Casual Entertainment and The Sims. Each group will operate with dedicated studio and publishing teams focused on consumer-driven priorities. The new structure is designed to streamline decision-making. Release

WSJ: The reorganization represents the company’s attempt to right itself after being caught off guard by the success of Nintendo Wii. EA’s original structure was organized into a collection of global studios that reported to a single executive, Paul Lee, president of worldwide studios. Under the new structure, the heads of the four groups will all report directly to Riccitiello. Lee, who is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, will become a senior adviser to Riccitiello, and will be assigned to special projects, including strategic partnerships.
