imageMulti-platform reality show producer Endemol has acquired Australian entertainment programmer Southern Star Group from Fairfax Media. Terms weren’t disclosed, though it still must be approved by regulators. The companies expect to complete the acquisition within Q1. The deal includes Southern Star International, Southern Star Entertainment and Southern Star’s 49 percent share in the joint venture Endemol Southern Star. The purchase gives Endemol greater access to the Australian market in general, and to Southern Star’s 14,000 hours of content in particular.
