Entertainment News, Social Net BuddyTV Gets $250K Funding
BuddyTV, a social net focused on TV entertainment, has received a $250K venture loan from the Charles River Quick Start Seed Funding Program, AC reported. The Seattle start-up offers original articles, news, spoilers, and interviews on a range of TV content. BuddyTV also enables fans, networks, and studios to conduct “TVj –Television Jockey” webcasts which allows users to transmit live audio, video, text, and polls about their favorite content. The site was founded by Andy Liu, BuddyTV’s publisher, David Niu, editor-in-chief. The two sold their previous company, web usability and analytics firm NetConversions, to aQuantive in 2004.
