Eventful Picks Up $10 Million In Third Round Led By Telefonica, Inks Ticketmaster Deal
Local events company Eventful has secured $10 million in a third round of funding. Telefonica (NYSE: TEF) Capital, the venture arm of of Spanish telecom Telefonica S.A. led the round, with existing investors Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Bay Partners also participating. The San Diego-based company has raised a total of $19.6 million since its first round in 2005. Release.

Eventful has also inked a deal with Ticketmaster that will allow it to sell tickets alongside its listings, VentureBeat reports. While neither company revealed details about the revenue split, they did acknowledge a forthcoming co-advertising deal that should expose them both to a wider audience.
