Evernote Raises $10 Million More To Speed Expansion
Multimedia note-taking service Evernote has raised $10 million in a third round led by Morgenthaler Ventures. Existing investors DOCOMO Capital and Troika Dialog also participated. The big round comes only a month after the company raised $2 million from DOCOMO, funds which it said it would use in part to launch additional local versions of its software.

With Evernote, users can “clip” a range of files—including handwritten text, parts of web pages, and audio files—and store them. Files can later be searched and shared from the web or a mobile phone. A basic, ad-supported version is free, while a premium version comes with additional features. The company says it is “zeroing in on” two million users and the additional funds will allow it to “reach more people in more places more quickly than we had ever planned.”
Total funding now comes to $23 million. Evernote had raised $5 million in a second round last December from Troika, following a $6 million first round in August 2006. More in the release.
