Ex-Bebo VP Angel Gambino Joining LatAm Social Net Sonico
Former Bebo and MTV exec Angel Gambino is joining Latin American social network Sonico as its VP for business development at the company’s Buenos Aires HQ.
She’s tasked with signing partnerships to reach users on different platforms, to bring in revenue through “content and applications”.
Two-year-old Sonico raised $4.3 million in first round VC funding last year, has 80 staff and claims 42 million registered users.
Gambino was MTV’s VP for commercial, strategy and digital media from 2005 to 2006, then joined Bebo as global VP for music and content, but left after . Since then she’s been traveling and looking at making investments.
From 2001, Gambino had spent four years as controller of biz dev and emerging platforms at the BBC.
