Owen Van Natta, the chief revenue officer of Facebook who by some accounts was demoted from his earlier position of COO, is leaving the company, reports ATD. Van Natta was one of the key execs in doing the two Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) deals, the first one on the ad network, and second on the $240 million investment.

Van Natta told ATD that he is not sure of where he will go, but is interested in a CEO role, something he wouldn’t have gotten at Facebook for sure. On Facebook, the company doesn’t intend to replace Van Natta “in the near term.” Facebook also named Matt Cohler, previously VP of strategy and operations, to VP of product management…the company will add sales head Mike Murphy, who will take on new international responsibilities too, and business development head Dan Rose to the core management team.
