Jason Weisberger, till now the COO of online ad network Federated Media, is leaving and joining San Francisco-based mobile video network Transpera, as its President and COO. This comes as the hunt for FM’s CEO came to a close and the company hired a replacement for Jason instead of getting a CEO (see our other story on Deanna Brown’s appointment); also recently FM Publisher and Chief Revenue Officer Chas Edwards left to join Digg with the same title. I spoke to John Battelle, CEO of Federated, and he said than when they announced their exec search, it was clear they were not going to promote from within, and as a result, Weisberger decided to leave, though in a phased transition, which ended now.

At Transpera, Weisberger will be responsible for day-to-day operating activities, including management and performance of Transpera, financial goal management and growth of products and services, it said. Transpera powers mobile video channels for AccuWeather.com, CBS (NYSE: CBS) News, Discovery, Msnbc.com, and others, and has raised two rounds, the last one of $8.25 million with investors such as Labrador Ventures, Flybridge Capital Partners, Intel Capital and First Round Capital.
