Report: Flickr Founder To Launch Social-Gaming Venture
In a return of sorts for Flickr’s co-founder, Stewart Butterfield (pictured, right) is reportedly starting a new company in the the “social-gaming arena,” according to AllThingsD’s Kara Swisher. Flickr actually began life as an online-game company. The game never materialized, although its photo-sharing feature obviously took off.

Swisher reports that Flickr architect Cal Henderson, who recently left Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO), is joining Butterfield in the new venture. Reached via IM, Henderson said he had no post-Yahoo plans for the moment and would not comment on the report. Butterfield left Yahoo in July and has said he is pursuing “other projects.” He did not immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment. Flickr co-founder Caterina Fake, who also left Yahoo last summer, is working on a startup of her own, Hunch, which emerged from stealth mode last month.
