Fox TV Stations Launches High-School Video Sharing Platform FoxHiLites.com
High school sports online media sector is on a high right now, though this Fox Television Stations (NYSE: NWS) is slightly broader: the local group has launched FoxHiLites.com, a platform for sharing video and commentary for high school students, reports B&C. The service/site, in 23 markets for now, encourages sports fans to upload video which may appear on TV. This comes as Hearst-Argyle Television launched its high school sports coverage to a dedicated site called HighSchoolPlaybook, which features heavy coverage of prep teams…it is in the markets of seven of the group’s stations.
LR recounts some of the other high-school site launches: Belo has soft-launched HSGameTime.com in all of its newspaper and TV markets, and Emmis has teamed up with Indiana’s athletic association on IHSAASports.org. Some more below in related links.
