Fantasy sports network Fanball is buying up several of F+ W Publications’ athletics related online and offline properties, which include contest and content sites.  Terms of the deal were not disclosed. F+W, which publishes a range of enthusiast magazine titles and books, is handing over National Fantasy Football Championship and National Fantasy Baseball Championship contest sites. Release

Fanball, which is owned by Liberty Media’s FUN Technologies division, is also getting Fantasy Sports Magazine and F+W’s fantasy sports custom publications unit. By casting off its sports fantasy holdings, F+W, publisher of the Writer’s Digest, still covers a wide range of enthusiast areas, such as topics related to hunting, coins, and comic book collecting. Though those areas are certainly not as as hot as fantasy sports. That said, the properties could do a lot better with Fanball’s framework, so it could turn out to be beneficial for the former F+W properties.
