Gamer Community Garena Gets $2 Million Angel Round
Garena, an online gamer community based in Singapore, has raised $2 million from angels, according to Alarm:Clock. Investors include Skype co-founder Tovio Annus and the Government of Singapore. The site, which boasts 5.5 million users, was started in 2006, with a platform originally borne out of the LAN-based games scene. The site has collaborated with MTV Asia to integrate videos and animations.
