Genieo Gets $3 Million For Personalized Home Pages

Genieo, a startup which automatically generates personalized home pages for its users, has raised $3 million in funding, we have confirmed. Founder Sol Tzvi tells us that the funds comes from unnamed angel investors. Genieo builds customized home pages, which feature news headlines from portals, a personal news feed based on favorite sites, and a search bar; content is automatically adjusted based on a user’s online behavior. Competitors include all the big portals—and Google (NSDQ: GOOG)—all of which feature their own customized home pages, although Ganieo says its offering stands apart since users don’t have to select the feeds to include. The funding was first reported earlier today by TechCrunch.
