German Travel Community Site TripsByTrips Receives Funding
TripsByTips, a German-language community site focusing on travel, has received an undisclosed amount of funding from Burda Digital Ventures. Like most of the other recent travel sites that have been attracting funding recently, Berlin-based TBT encourages members to share travel advice, hotel reviews, restaurant critiques, diaries and photos. The site launched in May with 20,000 articles and pictures. In terms of linking members, TBT says it uses the “Amazon principle,” whereby individuals are connected by clicking on items of similar interest. The company’s business model is based running context-related ads and and focusing its marketing efforts, naturally enough, on tourism services. Release
