Glam Acquires Men’s Online Media Company Fantastic Zero
Blog network Glam Media is getting less and less female focused these days and the company’s latest acquisition of German men’s online media company Fantastic Zero will only help to broaden its demographic and geographic reach. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. The purchase of three-year-old Fantastic Zero comes a year after Glam launched its own male-centric brand, Brash, in Germany.
Fantastic Zero founder and CEO Aric Austin has been appointed “the man for men” at Glam Media Germany. Fantastic Zero, based in Berlin and Munich, will be integrated into Glam Media.

While women-related content sites remain the largest part of Glam, the company has been consistently moving to be less reliant on a single gender. In July, Glam launched BrashSports with a network of over 25 sites designed to appeal to young men.
That debut followed Glam’s acquisition of AdPortal and its parent Sportsgenic. The initial purchase of AdPortal was part of another building block Glam wants to become more known for, namely expertise at display sales.
The purchases have all gone to support Glam’s overarching goal of promising advertisers the ability better target “micro-audiences” within smaller niche websites, whether the segment is male or female no matter the country.
