Greenspun Media is merging the print and digital sides of its Las Vegas-based media properties, including the Las Vegas Sun. The company’s half-dozen Las Vegas news holdings will continue to be sold as independent entities but the staffs will coalesce into single teams divided only by editorial, advertising and support. Although the the Sun declined to give specific numbers, in a post on his personal blog, columnist Steve Friess said that as many as 25 staffers were let go.

The cuts come the same day that Gannett’s USA Today laid off 37 staffers at the paper and its weekend magazine.
