LifeMed Media, a Westport-Conneticut based healthcare media company, has secured $6.215 million in first round financing led by Battery Ventures. LifeMed is focused on aggregating and organizing chronic disease populations as lifestyle or affinity marketing groups, using online and TV channels.

The investment will be used to expand product offerings, distribution and marketing…the company rolled out its first product, For Your Diabetes Life, or “dLife,” last year. It has the website, a radio show and a TV show on CNBC.

The company, with this specific product, has averaged 300,000 viewers for its TV show, while its website has attracted over 75,000 visitors each week.
