Latino music and entertainment portal Batanga, which has made some small acquisitions in the last year, has now raised a big $30 million third round of funding. The round was led by Tudor Ventures with H.I.G. Ventures and other existing investors participating. The funds will be used for the expansion of Batanga’s marketing efforts and the development of social media products and online content, the company says.

The Coral Gables, FL based company merged with Planeta Networks in December 2005 to form Hispanic Media. It has about 20 online Latin radio channels, about 5,000 user-programmed radio stations, and videos..it mixes music and social networking and and says has 4.5 million unique visitors a month.
