IAC Hires Slide’s Goli To Lead Dictionary.com

IAC (NSDQ: IACI) has appointed Slide media business GM Shravan Goli to head up its Dictionary.com online reference business, which also includes Thesaurus.com and Reference.com. Goli is replacing Doug Leeds, who was named president of Ask.com in the U.S. in October; Leeds had led Dictionary.com in the aftermath of IAC’s acquisition of the company for roughly $100 million in May 2008.

Since the purchase, IAC has added Dictionary.com apps for the iPhone as well as the BlackBerry and has also introduced “new integrated keyword-based ad solutions” to the site, according to the company. In its most recent earnings report, IAC said that “growth” at Dictionary.com had partially offset a fall in revenue per query at Ask.com.

Prior to Slide, Goli spent three years at Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO), including stints as the head of products for Yahoo Finance and as the general manager for Yahoo Video. Release.
