And while IAC (NSDQ: IACI) is selling off some of its assets to focus on the core, it is still bullish on its CollegeHumor franchise: the online comedy site has bought sports satire site SportsPickle, for an undisclosed though likely a small amount. Both sites are aimed at a young male demographic, hence a fit within IAC’s ConnectedVentures media and e-commerce network. SportPickle was founded in Nov 2001, and has since grown word-of-mouth. A book was released based on the columns in 2007, and the columns have been syndicated to ESPN as well. Over the next few months, CollegeHumor will do a much-needed redesign of the site and add more features and functionality, it said.

And for now, it looks like IAC has decided to keep the ConnectedVentures, unlike what Diller has been hinting or saying about its emerging businesses since late last year. No word yet on whether the CollegeHumor Show, currently on MTV, will be renewed for a second season. More details in release.
