Industry Moves: Dave Goldberg Joins Benchmark As EIR; Yahoo’s Braccia Joins Accel

‘Tis the season of EIRs:
—Dave Goldberg, former VP and GM of Yahoo Music, and co-founder and former CEO of Launch, has joined Benchmark Capital as an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR). As an EIR, Goldberg will be looking at consumer media markets, including music, video, and digital content, and he will assist Benchmark companies across the portfolio. That means he’s hatching a new startup with Benchmark…would be interesting to see if it will be in the DRM-free online music arena. He has been a longtime advocate of DRM-free music.

—Andrew Braccia, formerly VP of consumer web search at Yahoo, is moving over to the VC side by joining Accel Partners, the NYT Dealbook reports. Braccia will look at consumer internet and software companies, with a particular focus on search, digital media and online advertising. At Yahoo, Braccia helped manage the launch of social search Yahoo Answers and the acquisition of Del.icio.us. Release

Tom Ryan, former SVP of digital at EMI, earlier ths year joined Bessemer Venture Partners as an EIR. Jason Calacanis, the co-founder of Weblogs Inc joined Sequoia Capital as an EIR last year.
