Industry Moves: FIM’s IGN Changes GMs: Strang Out; Bahat In
Fox Interactive Media is bringing in News Corp. (NYSE: NWS) vet Roy Bahat to replace Dale Strang as GM. In a memo to staff announcing the move, FIM president Pete Levinsohn said Strang will be leaving the company—“a move that he and I mutually agreed was beneficial to both the IGN business and to Dale’s future career goals.” Bahat was on Rupert Murdoch’s NYC dev team, most recently responsible for the company-wide “environmental effort to lower carbon emissions.” He’s also worked with FIM, particularly MySpace, and gets an almost gushy endorsement from his new boss. Strang came over to FIM with IGN when the gaming media company was acquired in late 2005 for $650 million—a higher price than MySpace.
