imageNearly nine months after Sean Finnegan left Omnicom as CEO of its in-house interactive shop, OMG Digital, for in-text advertising start-up Vibrant Media, the media buying exec has been named president and chief digital officer of Publicis Groupe’s Starcom MediaVest Group. He takes the post on Oct. 1. In a statement, SMG CEO Laura Desmond chose Finnegan to replace Curt Hecht in the role, after he was moved over to serve as president of VivaKi, Publicis’ new “open source” ad network. A 15-year media vet, Finnegan began his career as a print planner at Omnicom’s BBDO New York. He then shifted his focus to the internet and new media, working at several interactive agencies including TribalDDB, and was also CMO for Vibrant.
