When social TV startup ClipSync pitched Jeff Price during his tenure as president of Sports Illustrated Digital, he told investor KPG Ventures that the concept needed work on the advertising side. Now, roughly six months after his departure from Time Inc., Price has joined the board of social TV company ClipSync, taking a small equity stake in exchange for being an active board member and helping the company to expand. “They’re at the point right now where it’s a lean company and a board seat gives me a chance to help them,” Price said. ClipSync already powers the Epix premium movie player and TV.com’s co-viewing feature. Price told paidContent he’s considering a similar role with some other companies as he works on his own unspecified projects.
