Industry Moves: Heavy Hires Back Former Maxim EIC as VP, Programming; Other Senior Hires
Heavy, the NYC-based broadband video service and now online video ad network, has hired back former Maxim Editor-in-Chief Jimmy Jellinek to VP of Entertainment and Programming, which marks his return to the company fold (he was previously VP of entertainment). In this role, Jellinek will manage all of Heavy’s original programming. He was replaced as Maxim’s EIC last year after Alpha Media Group, backed by PE firm Quadrangle, bought it. Jellinek started with Heavy as the host of The Jimmy Show on the site.
Jellinek will be reunited with former Stuff publisher John Lumpkin, who is the new SVP of strategic sales and partnerships at Heavy.com.
Also, for Heavy’s new video ad network Husky Network, it has hired Anthony Katsur as its COO. Katsur comes from CDN Panther Express, where he served as COO. Prior to this, Katsur served as Engineering EVP for DoubleClick, managing the DART ad serving infrastructure. Another senior hire: Rober Koshar joins Heavy as VP of ad operations….prior to this he was at WebMD (NSDQ: WBMD), where he served as the Director of Media Operations.
