Industry Moves: Jill Nash, Yahoo’s Head Of PR, Is Signing Off
Yahoo’s head PR honcho Jill Nash is leaving the company, Kara Swisher reports, and we have confirmed. Nash has been with Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) since 2006, when then-CEO Terry Semel hired her as chief communications officer. She’s had to put out public relations fires on many fronts during her tenure: the poor financial performance that sparked Semel’s ousting, the appointment (and resignation) of Jerry Yang as CEO, the drawn out Microsoft battle, as well as the constant stream of executive departures—including the resignation of Zimbra founder Satish Dharmaraj last week.

It’s not clear whether either of these latest departures are tied to the appointment of new CEO Carol Bartz, and we haven’t received confirmation from the company yet. There’s also no read on where Nash is headed post-Yahoo, though she will remain with the company for the next few weeks.
Updated: Swisher has the full text of Nash’s farewell memo here.
