Industry Moves: Microsoft Gaming Exec Goes To IGT

Gaming machine manufacturer International Game Technology has hired long-time Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) gaming executive Chris Satchell as its CTO. Satchell had spent seven years at Microsoft, most recently as chief technology officer of the company’s interactive entertainment business, which includes Xbox, Games for Windows, Xbox Live and Microsoft Game Studios. Satchell had held a number of other high-level positions at Microsfot, including serving as general manager of its XNA game development platforms and services group. IGT manufactures slot machines but also has an online and mobile gaming division. A Microsoft spokeswoman confirmed that Satchell was leaving, saying that he “has decided to pursue a new career opportunity and we wish him luck in his new role.”
