Industry Moves: Microsoft’s Di Cesare To Head YouTube’s Marketing
YouTube has named Chris Di Cesare head of marketing and programming, ClickZ reported. A YouTube rep told me that Di Cesare, who is defecting from Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) where he served as director of creative marketing, was recruited by Suzie Reider, YouTube’s chief marketing officer. Reider, who took the CMO role in the late summer of 2006, worked with Di Cesare at GameSpot a few years ago. Initially, her job responsibilities at YouTube combined aspects of sales and marketing. But after Google’s (NSDQ: GOOG) acquisition of YouTube, Reider, who was previously EVP and GM of CNET’s entertainment properties, became solely focused on ad sales. Not too many details about Di Cesare’s new role were offered. He will report directly to Chad Hurley, YouTube’s CEO.
